Here’s what to expect:

  • Understand the connection between SCI level of injury and neurogenic bowel management including the common symptoms and challenges.
  • Learn what a bowel program entails including adaptive equipment, DME, positioning, environmental set up & bowel management techniques.
  • Gain insights into rehab strategies that can help patients regain independence in managing neurogenic bowel after SCI.

Participants will gain a better understanding of how spinal cord injuries impact bowel function and the various treatment strategies available no matter what the setting. By the end of this workshop you will have increased knowledge and tools to provide more effective care and support to individuals with SCI and neurogenic bowel, ultimately improving their quality of life.

*To qualify for CEU's, it is up to the clinician to make sure they are completing CCAs that comply with respective state licensing boards. In NC, occupational therapy practitioners should refer to Section .0800 of the Rules of the Board.  You will be given a learning assessment and certificate upon completing the post quiz via email for 1.5 contact hours.
